Fort Monroe
No miles today, we took a car to see Fort Monroe. Triple digit temperatures yet again.
Fort Monroe is still an active fort, used by the U.S. Army. It has been in service since before the Civil War. Though in Virginia, the Union held it throughout the war, and thereafter, it, with other coastal forts, protected the Eastern Seaboard.
We went in and toured the casement museum.
