Shennandoah Again

Day 30 - 194 Miles

The Tank Museum in Danville was outstanding. They have in excess of 130 pieces between towed guns and various vehicles, with a large number of tracked vehicles. Ranging from just post-WWI to tanks from Desert Storm.

They also have an extensive 'mock' battlefield for Radio Control Models, and apparently hold RC Battles on a regular basis. Nothin of the sort was happening at the time, but we could see it must be great fun too.

We headed back to the Shennandoah National Park, by way of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Egads!! We suddenly recognized that we we traveling the same part of the Parkway that Kip and I rode last year on our bicycles... so I'll be adding some recycled pictures later.

We entered the Park and fortunately the Ranger advised us that the Skyline restaurants were closing so we should stop at the first one if we wanted to eat tonight... and we made it with just minutes to spare, having also filled with gas before closing lest we encounter the same problem as last week... Fool us once, sahme on you, fool us twice... LOL. No way. Not again. ;^D

We ate and camped at the Loft Mountain Campground this time, and there are no where near as many 'tame' dear as at Big Meadows.

We met a couple of Harley riders, 'Dirt' and Rob, there, brothers doing more or less the same thing as us, riding where the whim takes them.

Total Miles: 7859
