Shennandoah National Park

Day 27 - 200 Miles

Much like Lee, we headed back to Virginia, and visited Manasas, also known as Bull Run, where two early, major southern victories occurred.

The range between the lines at the first battle were amazingly close.

The temperatures here today were peaking over 100 degrees, so if you want to see more, go look in your history books, we mostly stayed in the visitor's center.

But not before a little humor.

We went into the town of Manasas and had a great meal at an upscale taqueria chain called Chipotle's, I heartily recommend it... but we decided it was altogether too hot to continue south, so we turned east and headed into the Shennandoah National Park, high up along Skyline Drive...

and found excellent camping... and remarkably 'tame' neighbors.

Total Miles: 7136
