Touring Gettysburg

Day 26 - 56 Miles

We met up with the Shadow Riders as planned and continued to tour the battlesite. More day one information, and pieces of days two and three. The next morning, on our own again, we revisited some of the Little Round Top sites, and also viewed Pickett's Charge from both perspectives.

Pickett's Charge (attacking)

Pickett's Charge (receiving the attack) Bloody Hell, what was Lee thinking? A mile, no cover, under 'close' range bombardment of the Union artillery, first with fused bombs, canister and grape thereafter, and finally direct rifle fire from behind the wall, as they concentrated themselves at the Angle.

The artillery.

Total Miles: 6736
